This Week's Best Bookstagram Posts (in my opinion)
Bookstagram post ideas for when you are in a slump
Welcome to a new Substack series where I’ll share with you my favorite posts and creators on Bookstagram each week, to help and inspire you to start creating and posting more <3
Note: Make sure to use your own voice and credit if using any of these ideas, also if you click on the image you will be redirected to that post
Things I do that help me read more
Describe the things that help you read more, and if you are thinking that the aesthetic of this post is what actually made it viral, I think the storytelling and educational side of it did.
But my best advice to create aesthetic photos like this one is Pinterest, try to recreate ( do not download directly from Pinterest since they are copyrighted) but use your own props to take similar photos, until you train yourself to have an eye for these
Where I get my props:
Flea Markets - I found the cutest statues and vases for like 10$
Primark - here I found my pink tablecloth
Vinted - I think this is the equivalent of Ebay, here I found my matcha candle
The point is, the message and the value you deliver is more important than the aesthetic, but if you still want to have an aesthetic, you can for cheap
The Ultimate» Genre « Reading List
Anything “ultimate” performs really well on Bookstagram, because people know this is the serious, unfiltered list that they need to read.
My favorite books to recommend that…
Makes you happy, sad, yearning etc, any feeling a certain book made you feel, recommend it.
Things I want to see more in….
What are the things that you want to see more of in certain genres?
Books I’ll never stop Recommending
These types of posts always perform very well, especially if you go in depth on the trope/rating/spice etc. Posts like these get saved and saved posts signal the algorithm to push it out to more people.
Match a song with book recs
Ok so this is a fun one an if you look at it you probably don’t understand why it performed so well, the song that was picked for this one is called “Sleep Token - Chokehold” and the lyrics of the songs are basically what you see in the text, these types of posts are so fun to make !
»Genre« Tropes I would never survive in real life
This is so entertaining to think about, how many time you thought to yourself when reading a book, that you would never do that in real life, share those with your audience!
My bookshelf over the years
If you started your reading journey with one shelf, and now you have a full on library of some sorts, document your shelves as they grow and share them with your community! I for sure am waiting for the moment I will have more than 4 shelves to share them with you guys.
The book vs. the journal pages
If you have a reading journal, share the book vs the spread you made for it.
Thank you so much for reading <3
P.S. if you're tired of staring at your phone thinking "what do I even post," I made a content planner + 1000 bookstagram ideas pack for exactly this. Every idea is tagged by what it does (grow, nurture, or sell), there's a built-in engagement tracker so you know what's actually working, and 300 hooks so you never get stuck on the first line again.
